This talk will provide an overview on how imaging can be used to enhance risk assessment and guide the management of patients with known or suspected CAD. The talk will outline the rationale for use of imaging in risk assessment, and provide an overview of how coronary artery calcium testing and coronary CT angiography (CCTA) can be used to detect and quantify the amount of coronary atherosclerosis. The talk will also provide examples of how other imaging tests – such as cardiac PET stress testing and cardiac MRI – can be used for risk assessment. Throughout the talk, examples of how the information provided by imaging can be used in patient management decisions will be highlighted.
