Biography
Dr. Sean Young is an Associate Professor in the UC Irvine Departments of Informatics and Emergency Medicine and the Executive Director of the University of California Institute for Prediction Technology. His academic research has been focused on the use of technologies for changing (interventions) and predicting (data science) health behaviors. Dr. Young received his Ph.D in psychology and Master’s in health services research from Stanford University and while in graduate school, worked at NASA Ames Research Center and Cisco Systems. He is a Study Committee Member on recommendations for government policies on STI’s for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. He is also the author of the #1 Wall Street Journal Bestseller, Stick with It, on the science behind lasting behavior change.
