Biography

Dr. Xiao Jing (Iris) Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the General GI group and is the Associate Program Director of the GI fellowship. In addition to general gastroenterology, her areas of clinical focus include Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBI), including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), functional dyspepsia (FD), and chronic abdominal pain. Her research is focused on the pathophysiology of DGBI disorders, testing of pharmaceutical and nonpharmaceutical therapies, and cross-discipline techniques such as gut hypnotherapy, mind-body therapies, and biofeedback. Her research program includes the use of digital therapeutics as well as simulation and extended reality across multiple realms of gastroenterology including education, endoscopy and clinic. She is also the author of a children’s board book, “Boo Can’t Poo” aimed at increasing awareness around bowel issues.
