Biography

Pamela Vergara-Rodriguez is a triple boarded certified physician in internal medicine, psychiatry and addiction medicine with over 15-year experience as a multi-specialty HIV Provider in the Cook County Health system and the CORE Center Director of Psychiatric Services. She has led several social service grants and research studies to improve the health outcomes of underserved populations including Spanish speaking immigrants, the LGBTQ population, persons living with HIV and persons living with substance use disorder and/or mental illness. She did her medical school training at University of California at Davis where she first become interested in HIV medicine and addiction disorders. She completed her medical residency at RUSH Medical Center in Chicago and began her training as an HIV primary care Provider at the CORE Center in 2001 and is still going strong in her love for serving this population.
