Biography

Ms. Isabel Valdez is a Physician Assistant and Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and the School of Health Professions in Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at Rice University and her Master in Physician Assistant Studies at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She has dedicated her career to primary care, most of it as faculty at Baylor College of Medicine. Her outstanding medical care and patient advocacy have been recognized with multiple faculty awards including the STAR Faculty Award for Excellence in Patient Care and the Carl Fasser Visionary Leadership Award. Ms. Valdez is very engaged with education, serving as a lecturer and preceptor for the top-ranked Baylor Physician Assistant Program, speaking at the Texas Academy of PAs and the American Academy of PAs, and producing CME podcasts with the highly acclaimed The Curbsiders Internal Medicine Podcast. When she is not seeing patients or teaching students, Isabel likes to run in 5-, 10, or 21-kilometer intervals!
