Biography

Jaime J. Rueda is an Internal Medicine/Pediatrics physician in the department of Medicine with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). He is a graduate of UT Pan American and received his medical degree from BCM. He completed his residency also at BCM in 2011 and chief residency in 2012. After residency, he was a physician in the Shiprock Service Unit of the Indian Health Service for 3 years. Here he officially started his career as a Med/Peds Physician working in both the IM and Peds Clinic of the Northern Navajo Medical Center. When he returned to BCM in 2015, he has been an attending physician in the continuity clinic for Internal Medicine/Pediatric residents at MLK Health Center and with Internal Medicine residents at Smith Clinic. He is an Associate Program director for the IM/Peds Residency Program and has a passion for the medical education of students and residents. Some of his research interests are on the effects of lifestyle changes on chronic kidney disease and obesity in both children and adults.
