Biography

Tamanna Roshan Lal, MD, ChB, is Director of Clinical Trials and Director of International Patient Consultations and Care Referrals at the Rare Disease Institute of the Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. She also serves as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at George Washington University. Her clinical and research interests focus on improving the quality of life of children with rare genetic diseases, specifically lysosomal storage diseases and neuro-genetic disorders. Toward that end, Dr Roshan Lal is involved in clinical trials evaluating orphan drugs and gene therapy. She has successfully published manuscripts and book chapters and presented her research at national and international conferences. Board certified in pediatrics, clinical genetics, and medical biochemical genetics, she obtained her medical degree at the University of Manchester (UK) and completed her medical genetics training at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.
