Biography

Dr. Joan Ritter received her undergraduate degree in History from Georgetown University and her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC), followed by a chief resident year at WRAMC. After completing her military service, Dr. Ritter rejoined WRAMC as a civilian and has thoroughly enjoyed clinical care and UME/GME teaching in the outpatient and inpatient settings. Since 2000, she has served as a volunteer provider at the Arlington Free Clinic and has served as medical director there since 2010.
