Biography

Dr. Poston joined the Division of Internal Medicine in 2004 where she is currently Associate Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine and Residency Program Director. She graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 1999 where she also completed her Internal Medicine residency in 2002. She completed an Academic Generalist and MS Clinical Research Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2004. Academically, Dr. Poston has participated in preclinical medical student education as the director of the Introduction to Clinical Medicine curriculum, which incorporates ultrasound in the Physical Diagnosis and Pathophysiology sections. Additionally, she directs the curriculum in hands-on-education in ultrasound for Internal Medicine residents and participates in Ultrasound in Primary Care CME events for community physicians.
