James F. Neuenschwander

Biography

Dr. Neuenschwander is an Emergency Physician at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He is an adjunct associate professor at the Ohio State University. Dr. Neuenschwander is the primary investigator on a number of studies and has served on the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP)expert consensus panels on hyperkalemia, hepatic encephalopathy, anti coagulation reversal and moderate respiratory distress Dr. Neuenschwander has served on Peer Review and Antibiotic Stewardship Committees. He has helped launch the Observation Unit at Genesis HealthCare System in Zanesville, Ohio. He is board certified in addiction medicine and is part of an ongoing research and treatment project demonstrating the effectiveness of starting medications to stop opioid withdrawal. Dr. Neuenschwander is a graduate of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and is currently an Alumni Board member. He completed his residency training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1998. He loves to teach and participates in multiple CME programs throughout the country while still finding time to play soccer, exercise and spend time with his beautiful wife and wonderful children.
