Biography

John R. Nelson, MD, has been the director of the California Cardiovascular Institute for nearly 30 years where he sees patients on a daily basis. Dr. Nelson is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the National Lipid Association. He is a founding member and Past President of the Pacific Lipid Association and served on the Board of Directors of the National Lipid Association. Dr. Nelson’s current research is focused on eicosapentaenoic acid and improving predictors of cardiovascular risk. His most recent published manuscript was the EVAPORATE trial just presented at the European Society of Cardiology.
