Biography

Dr. Gary Martin has enjoyed a wide variety of roles and experiences including: Program Director for the primary care IM residency, College Mentor for ~ 40 medical students, class of 2013 and 2017, Director of the M3 primary care clerkship, chaired the faculty group practice IT committee and Ambulatory QA committee, and served 18 years on the faculty group practice board of directors. Dr. Martin has helped implement the EMR across all departments and stay involved in the Enterprise Data Warehouse oversight. Research in cardiovascular disease, medical education and health care delivery have been a focus, as well. Administrative roles have included division chief for 13 years building the GIM practice and research, Vice Chair for the Department of Medicine for 16 years and other interim leadership roles. Dr. Martin’s patient care has focused on primary care, prevention and cardiovascular disease.
