David Malebranche

MD, MPH

Biography

David Malebranche, MD, MPH, currently serves as Senior Director, Global HIV Medical Affairs at Gilead Sciences. He is a board-certified internal medicine physician and HIV specialist with over 25 years of clinical experience in sexual health and the treatment/prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infections, as well as expertise in men's health, correctional health, student health, racial inequities in medicine, and LGBTQ health. Dr. Malebranche has extensive expertise in conducting qualitative and quantitative HIV behavioral prevention research among Black communities (particularly Black same-gender-loving men) and has published more than 60 articles in medical and public health journals. Passionate about community engagement, outreach and activism, Dr Malebranche has also appeared in multiple media specials and documentaries, the video series #AskTheHIVDoc with the Kaiser Family Foundation, as well as the YouTube series Revolutionary Health with the Counter Narrative Project. He has held several academic faculty appointments during his career, most recently as Associate Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of Student and Employee Health at Morehouse School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia, US. He currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States.
