Biography

Dr. Nancy Klimas is a distinguished Professor of Medicine and Chair of the Department of Clinical Immunology at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), where she leads the NSU/ Miami VA GRECC Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine (INIM). This multidisciplinary research and clinical program adopts a systems biology approach to tackle complex medical conditions, focusing notably on Gulf War Illness (GWI), Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Fibromyalgia, and more recently, long COVID. She is a leading authority in toxic injury incited chronic illness and post viral chronic illness research and clinical care, dedicating her efforts to unraveling its immunological underpinnings and developing effective treatments. Dr. Klimas' research has significantly advanced the scientific community's comprehension of ME/CFS and has provided hope to countless patients globally. Throughout her career, Dr. Nancy Klimas has held prestigious leadership roles, including the presidency of the International Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (IACFS/ME) and national and international positions on various scientific boards and panels.
