Biography

Dr. Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy with appointments to the departments of rehabilitation medicine, neurological surgery and anesthesiology. He is the physical therapy director of the spine center at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Hooked on Evidence Low Back Pain Panel and the Bottom Line Committee of the Physical Therapy Journal. He has served as a reviewer for the American College of Physicians and American Pain Society’s guidelines on Low Back Pain, as well as the American College of Occupational Medicine’s guidelines. Dr. Johnson has presented and published research on subject matter related to low back pain, therapeutic exercise, nervous system mobility and 3-dimensional joint reaction forces during joint manipulation.
