Biography

Dr. Jia is an assistant professor and interventional cardiologist at Baylor College of Medicine with primary clinical duties at Ben Taub Hospital, where he also serves as the physician lead in the lipid clinic. He received bachelor of science degrees for chemistry and biology from Stanford University. He then attended medical school at the University of Florida. He completed residency in internal medicine, fellowship in cardiology and super-fellowships in interventional cardiology and lipidology at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Jia’s clinical interests are in the fields of interventional and preventative cardiology. His primary research involves the identification of residual risk factors and novel biomarkers of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and heart failure. He has authored or co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed manuscripts along with multiple book chapters and online articles related to cardiovascular disease.
