Biography
Dr. Horowitz has been teaching and practicing infectious diseases for 30 years. After an Infectious Diseases fellowship at Tufts-New England Medical Center he spent 20 years at New York Medical College where he switched his itnerests from tick-borne infections and HIV to infection control and antibiotic stewardship. Last October he moved to Weill Cornell Medicine/NY-P Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Among the emerging infections that he has studied and published on are: leuconostoc, vancomycin-resistant enterococci, Lyme disease, and anaplasmosis. He helped develop the emergency response plan for the Ebola crisis at NYC Health & Hospitals/Bellevue.
