Biography

Dr. Rolanda Gott is the Clinical Director of the Division of Developmental Behavior Pediatrics at the UCLA Department of Pediatrics since 2018. Dr. Gott was part of the expert team that developed the Missouri Autism Guidelines Initiatives for screening, diagnosis and evidence based treatment for ASD. She has research experience on multisite projects investigating African American Children with Autism spectrum disorders, funded by the Simons Foundation, UCLA ACE and ATN. Dr. Gott’s research on sleep disorders, vision problems in children with ASD, autism screening and other disabilities has been published in peer reviewed articles, book chapters and abstracts. Parents as Teachers (PAT) used the online teaching tool with video clips on ASD that Dr. Gott developed in 2012. She introduced an early autism screening tool through Parents as Teachers National Center. This autism screening implemented by PAT has led to policy changes at the National and State of Missouri level. As a member of the Board of Directors and of the Health Committee of Southern California Special Olympics Dr. Gott is working on developing guidelines for physicians’ role in engaging and monitoring participation of individuals with disabilities in Unified Sports.
