Biography

Michael Garcia is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Clinical Nutrition/Department of Medicine at UCLA. He is a native of Annapolis, Maryland and received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Medical Resident. In the Division of Clinical Nutrition at UCLA, he leads the adult parenteral nutrition program and has led the development of inpatient nutrition support teams. His areas of practice focus on malnutrition, intestinal failure, and the use of medical nutrition for the prevention and treatment of cancer, gastrointestinal conditions, obesity and obesity-associated metabolic conditions, and malnutrition.
