Biography

Dr. Efren Chavez is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and as a Clinical Hypertension Specialist. He is a faculty member at the University of Miami Comprehensive Hypertension Center, the only one in Florida granted with such designation by the American Heart Association. He has a clinical and research interest in resistant hypertension, hypertensive crisis and hereditary kidney diseases such as ADPKD or Alport syndrome. He trained in internal medicine at University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital and completed nephrology fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
