Biography

A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Dr. Amanda Calvin received her medical degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 2013. She then went on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in 2016 and 2019, respectively. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary disease and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Calvin is affiliated with HealthPartners Park Nicollet, serving patients at their Burnsville, and Saint Louis Park clinics. She enjoys all aspects of the pulmonary subspecialty, treating all lung conditions. She has a special interest in eosinophilc diseases, and endobronchial ultrasound. Outside of the clinic, she offers inpatient pulmonary consultative services and manages critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. She is passionate about patient education, and strongly believes that the appropriate treatment of medical diseases is achieved through actively listening to patients’ concerns. She believes it is important to treat a patient medically while simultaneously helping them understand what is happening in their body. Among her various accolades, Dr. Calvin has been the recipient of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Outstanding Achievement Award (2019), Angela and Anne V. Marinelli Endowed Fellowship Award for Exceptional Achievement and Promise in Clinical Practice (2019), Silver Fellow Award (2019), Bek Afessa Award for Excellence in Quality Improvement (2018), Internal Medicine Attitude, Commitment, and Excellence Award (2015, 2016), Above and Beyond Star Award (2014), Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Environmental Medicine Student of the Year Award (2013). On a more personal note, she enjoys spending her spare time with her family and friends, either on the lake, at the cabin or exploring a new locale. She also enjoys reading, scuba diving and playing with her son and dog. Even though she lives in Minnesota, her heart for sports teams will always be in Kansas City.
