Biography

John Wolf, MD, is Professor and Chair of the Departmet of Dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is a graduate of Rice University (Distinguished Alumnus Award, 2003) and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston (MA, 1963; MD with High Honors, 1965). He completed a medical internship at Cornell University/Bellevue Hospital in New York City before serving two years as a Peace Corps physician in the Micronesian Islands. Dr. Wolf was subsequently a dermatology resident at the University of California in San Francisco, a fellow in tropical dermatology on Guadalajara, and senior registrar at St. John's Hospital for Diseases of the Skin in London, England. He has served as historian of several scientific societies and has made numerous presentations of the history of dermatology. He has authored more than 160 publications and delivered more than 1,000 professional lectures. Dr. Wolf has participated in many radio, television and print media interviews, including in The Wall Street Journal and on NBC's Today Show.
