Dr. Volpe, a prominent advocate of electronic prescribing and health-care information technology, has been in practice in the New York area since 1987. He is one of the few physicians in the country who's triple-boarded in internal medicine, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Dr. Volpe has written and given speeches about the advantages of e-prescribing, especially from a patient safety perspective. He's also been quoted in magazine and television pieces on the topic.
