Biography

Dr Tonia Yee Vinton is an obesity specialist, double board certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She is currently the medical director for UT Southwestern’s Weight Wellness Clinic at Texas Health Dallas. She is Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and is a member of the Division of Endocrinology. She was previously the medical director for the Nutrition and Weight Management Center and co-chair of the Weight Wellness Committee at Baylor Scott and White in Dallas, Texas. She is also the founder and president of the Dallas Obesity Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and engaging clinicians in the treatment of obesity as a chronic disease. Dr Vinton received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin and her medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School. She completed her internship and internal medicine residency at UT Southwestern. She practiced Hospital Medicine for seven years prior to her combined internal medicine and obesity practice at Baylor Medical Center.
