Biography

Dr. Tillisch is a graduate of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA where she also completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology. She has been a NIH funded investigator for the past decade, with her research focusing on brain-gut interactions in functional gastrointestinal disorders and chronic pain. She has a particular interest in the role of the microbiota in brain gut interactions and authored the first paper in humans showing the effects of probiotics on the brain. She is a member of the Rome !V Committee and is also Chief of Integrative Medicine at the Greater Los Angeles VA.
