Deepak Talreja

Biography

Deepak Talreja, MD, FACC, a Virginia Beach native, completed his undergraduate education in 1993 and medical school at the University of Virginia in 1997. He completed an internal medicine residency in 2000 and a clinical cardiology fellowship in 2003, both at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He also completed an interventional cardiology fellowship in 2004 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Division and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Dr. Talreja was part of the founding of the Structural Heart Program at Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, and serves as Co-director. He is also Director of the Sentara Cardiology Lipid Clinic and serves on the faculty of Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. His special medical interests include transcatheter valve replacement, coronary revascularization, and closure of patent foramen ovale. He has extensive training and expertise in echocardiography, nuclear imaging, valvular heart disease, and preventive cardiology.
