Biography

Cherise Russo is an osteopathic non-operative primary care sports medicine specialist. She is currently part of the Northwestern Medical group at Lake Forest Hospital. She routinely cares for patients of all ages and all levels of athletic interest. Dr. Russo has a special interest in caring for endurance athletes, and she was a lead member of the volunteer physician group for the Chicago Marathon from 2007 to 2019. Dr. Russo has served as a team physician for several high schools in the Chicagoland area over the last 17 years, including Loyola Academy. Dr. Russo was also a part of the medical team for the NFL’s Chicago Bears from 2009-2017. Dr. Russo is enthusiastic about teaching and previously served as the Fellowship Director for Resurrection Medical Center from 2007-2009. Currently, she mentors Family Medicine residents from the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital.
