Biography

Ann Robinow co-founded and served as President of Patient Choice Healthcare until its recent acquisition by Medica, a large regional health plan based in Minneapolis. She now runs the plan for Medica as vice president and general manager. Started by a Minnesota employer coalition called the Buyers' Health Care Action Group, Patient Choice was originally a program that enabled employees of large corporations to choose among a couple of dozen physician groups in the Twin Cities area. It was a pioneer in quality measurement, provider scorecards, and the tiering of provider networks. Ms. Robinow has worked in the healthcare and financial management industry for more than 28 years. Before joining Patient Choice, she served as executive director of Care Systems and Finance for the Buyers' Health Care Action Group.
