Dr. Phelps has 30 years of experience treating complex mood disorders, the last 15 of which have focused on psychiatric consultation in primary care. He developed one of the most advanced consultation programs in Oregon, a variation on the “Collaborative Care Model” from the University of Washington. His website PsychEducation.org has received over 2 million visitors, leading to commissions from McGraw-Hill and W.W. Norton for 3 books on bipolar disorders. When not pursuing his closet academic career he has taught skiing, volleyball, sailing; and keeps a boat in the water at all times.
