Biography
Dr. Oettgen joined the Cardiology faculty at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 1993 and established an independent laboratory and research program at the Harvard Institutes of Medicine in 1997. He is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Director of Preventive Cardiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. His major research interests and contributions have been in determining the molecular mechanisms of vascular inflammation, angiogenesis, and vascular development.
