Biography

Dr. McCarron is Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and Associate Dean, Continuing Medical Education at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine. As a national thought leader at the interface of primary care and psychiatry, he is the Founding Director for the UCI Train New Trainers (TNT) Primary Care Psychiatry Fellowship and the TNT PC Training and Education in Addiction Medicine Fellowship, which train PCPs in the essentials of adult and pediatric psychiatry and SUD behavioral health. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University, completed dual residency in internal medicine and psychiatry at Rush University, and is board certified in psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, and internal medicine.
