Biography
Dr. Beth L. Jonas is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Dr Jonas received her medical degree from the State University of New York Health Sciences Center, Syracuse, New York. She served her internal medicine residency at The George Washington University Hospital, Washington DC, and completed her rheumatology fellowship at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. She is the former recipient of an Arthritis Foundation Clinical Investigator Award. Dr. Jonas, a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, is a Board Certified rheumatologist who has an active clinical practice with a focus on inflammatory arthritis. She participates in clinical research in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. She also serves at the Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship Training Program at UNC Thurston Arthritis Research Center. She is a current recipient of the American College of Rheumatology- Rheumatology Research Foundation Fellowship Training Award. Dr. Jonas lectures extensively to learners at all levels on topics in rheumatology and has coauthored numerous journal articles and book chapters on the rheumatic diseases.
