Biography

Robert Hughes has practiced as a family physician in Murray, Kentucky, for 19 years. He now leads a seven-doctor primary-care practice that has taken a pioneering role in the use of information technology in eastern Kentucky. For the past few years, the group has been using an electronic medical record that all of its clinicians access on wireless tablet computers. Dr. Hughes and his wife, pediatrician Joyce Hughes, came to Murray directly out of residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he also received his medical degree. He has been an Assistant Clinical Professor at the same institution since 1989.
