Biography

Juan Carlos Gavaldá, MD, is a family medicine specialist at Methodist Family Health Center – Central Grand Prairie in Dallas, Texas. He earned his medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in family medicine with a research track certification. Dr. Gavaldá is currently highly involved in his community, church, and medical health system. He has been highly active in KDRL radio, NBC, and ABC news segments reaching out to spread medical education and information on the latest medical data that may affect the public. Dr. Gavaldá is a board member of the Methodist Medical Group in the DFW Metroplex area, as well as a finance committee member in the Methodist Alliance for Patients and Physicians Accountable Care Organization. Dr. Gavaldá’s recent efforts have been geared toward the development of office systems that maximize preventive care in the Medicare population, while ensuring economic sustainability. Currently, he is involved in physician education projects that shine light on new procedures and methods of practice management. Dr. Gavaldá is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. He has been recognized yearly since 2017 in D Magazine’s “Best Doctors,” as well as the University of Puerto Rico’s Hospitalist and Research Resident Awards.
