Biography

Ms. Curtin is responsible for all quality management functions of the Excellus Health Plan, which serves 2.1 million residents of upstate New York. Her goal is to improve the delivery of preventive and chronic disease care as well as access and continuity of care. The health plan is doing this partly through the use of pay-for-performance incentives. Previously, Ms. Curtin held positions as a nurse practitioner, a manager of staff- model HMO clinics, and a consultant for the Alliance of Community Health Plans. She recently spoke on pay for performance at the Network Management Conference in San Francisco.
