Biography

Michael Blaivas, MD, FACEP, FAIUM is a professor of Medicine, president of the Society of Ultrasound in Medical Education and Third Vice President of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. Dr. Blaivas is board certified in emergency medicine and has completed an emergency ultrasound fellowship. He has published over 200 peer reviewed manuscripts on various aspects of point of care ultrasound and had edited five books. Dr. Blaivas is on the board of the Ultrasound Institute of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
