Biography

Dr. Basch practices general internal medicine in Washington, DC, and is the Medical Director for Ambulatory EHR and Health IT Policy at MedStar Health, the largest not for profit health system in this region. He is a frequent speaker on the issues of EHR adoption, optimization, and payment reform. Dr. Basch is a Senior Fellow for Health IT Policy with the Center for American Progress, a Visiting Scholar with the Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform of the Brookings Institution, and the Chair of the Medical Informatics Committee for the American College of Physicians.
