Overview
Elder abuse, neglect and exploitation is a growing problem that impacts 1 in 5 Americans age 60+. As the population ages, the number of vulnerable elderly with disabilities and cognitive impairment who are most susceptible to elder abuse, neglect and exploitation will also increase. This presentation will provide information to primary care providers regarding how to recognize the problem, appropriate management and referrals. Additionally, mandatory reporting requirements and legal remedies for patients and families will also be presented.
