This 3-part virtual meeting will examine the role of basal insulin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, with an emphasis on how to optimize safety and effectiveness. Attendees will explore strategies spanning from when to intensify with basal insulin initiation and how to ensure patient readiness (addressing barriers to initiation and understanding how to effectively initiate and titrate basal insulin), to recognizing the similarities and differences between the currently available basal insulin analogs (with a focus on longer- versus long-acting analogs), with key considerations highlighted through use of a case study.
