The educational program, Current Clinical Issues in Primary Care, is developed by the Course Committee of Harvard Medical School.  All decisions about the program content and faculty are made exclusively by the Course Committee. It is the mission of the Course Committee to develop, present, and promote an educational opportunity that is timely, relevant, and of the highest quality.  To that end, we welcome your comments about how to better serve your needs.

In an effort to maximize efficiency for you and help the environment, Pri-Med will be moving to a “paperless” format. The complete conference syllabus will now be available online several weeks prior to the event for you to review and print at your convenience. You will receive an email to notify you once the syllabus is posted and available for you to view. Upon arriving at the convention center, you will receive an Attendee Bag containing the On-site Directory at the Badge Holder Pick-up counters. This Directory contains brief descriptions of all the sessions as well as times and room locations to guide you through the conference. We look forward to seeing you in New York in October!

Current Clinical Issues in Primary Care

The core three-day program is developed and presented by nationally-recognized faculty from Harvard Medical School and Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. Grouped into concurrent morning and afternoon sessions, the program offers over 50 clinical lectures addressing challenges faced by primary care practitioners today. Enjoy the freedom of attending any lecture you choose over the three days of the course, while earning up to 17 AMA category 1 creditsTM.

Course Objectives

After completing the Harvard Medical School course, attendees will be better able to:

  • Diagnose and manage common conditions in effective and efficient ways that improve outcomes for patients.
  • Evaluate the evidence behind new guidelines and recommendations.
  • Enhance communication techniques to increase patient satisfaction and adherence to treatment.

Practice Solutions

Pri-Med introduces Practice Solutions - Integrating Technology to Enhance Patient and Practice Management. Two days of cutting edge education developed by Physicians Practice, America's Leading Practice Management Journal, focusing on technology, practice management, patient care and more. The program, sponsored by Pri-Med Institute, addresses your needs as healthcare professionals to receive information, resources and education in the areas of technology and practice-based approaches and solutions.

Program Objectives
After completing Practice Solutions, attendees will be better able to:

  • Identify at least three technologies that may be used by clinicians to improve patient outcomes.
  • Describe how technology-based solutions can positively impact patient safety, cost of delivering care, and clinician efficiency.

Symposia are available to registered Pri-Med Conference & Exhibition attendees at no additional charge. Sessions have limited seating availability and pre-registration for each symposium is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Arrive one day early and earn additional CME credit! Due to the increased demand for industry supported symposia, a full day dedicated exclusively to symposia has been added to the schedule. The Pre-Conference Symposia Day takes place Thursday, October 2nd - one day prior to the opening of the Conference & Exhibition. Come early, earn CME, and avoid the opening day registration lines!

How do I receive credit?


Each Pri-Med Registrant will receive a scancard which is encoded with your name, address and professional discipline. To obtain credit for Current Clinical Issues in Primary Care, you will need to scan this card once in the morning and once in the afternoon throughout Pri-Med. Scanners will be placed at the entrance of each session room. Credit hours earned will be available online at www.pri-med.com approximately 4 weeks after the close of show by the accrediting institution.


You will receive an individual CME certificate from the Industry-Supported Symposium or Practice Solutions sessions you attend. Please note that these credit hours will be sent separately from your certificate for the Harvard Medical School/College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University course.
